Mariel Sporn Tavakoli is a writer, editor, and professional in the field of higher education. Originally from the NYC area, she has a BA in Public Policy with a minor in Sociology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, an MSc in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of Oxford, and is an alumnus of the Fulbright Program in the Czech Republic. Beyond those titles, the travel and life experiences between them continue to inspire her writing, now living in Toronto, Canada.

The blog section of this site was originally started to keep family and friends informed while teaching English in Znojmo, Czech Republic from September 2013-June 2014 and remained a home for reflections on the adventures, challenges, and experiences of a young American moving between continents from 2014-2017.
