Hi, my name is Mariel Tavakoli.
This site originally started as a blog to keep family and friends informed of my time teaching English in Znojmo, Czech Republic from September 2013-June 2014 via the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and to provide some insight into the adventures, challenges, and experiences of a young American living abroad.
Although I stopped blogging about my experiences in 2017, you can find links to other online publications where I have continued to share the lessons learned through my travels in the fields of EFL Writing, International Education, Travel Writing, and Marketing & Design.
